Hello,

In this article, I will share with you my notes about the book “From Zero to One” written by Peter Thiel and Blake Masters. On the front cover of the book, under the full name of the book, it says “Notes on startups or ways to build the future.” The entire narrative is actually designed to support or explain these statements. These two people are investors known as venture capitalists, who are very popular in Silicon Valley.

The author says that there are two types of progress when thinking about the future or for those who think about progress. First, going from 0 to 1, which means vertical or doing new things. It is difficult to do things that no one has the courage or imagination to do.

Therefore, it is easier to proceed horizontally or comprehensively. This is going from 1 to n. It is broken down like this in the book.

For example, in the macro world it is said that horizontal progress is “Globalization”. Today, China is shown as the leading example of globalization. The Chinese are directly imitating everything that works in the developed world. From this point of view, the concept used for “Vertical” or intense progress is technology. This is an important emphasis, because everything is meant to be technology. With globalization, many products can be delivered to many buyers at different affordable costs, this is illustrated with examples as going from 1 to n, and the book even mentions with examples that China has exaggerated the situation tremendously and is copying European and Western cities one…
